Scout Skills Day
June 11, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
When: Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 9am until 4pm (With advance notice, a little earlier drop off or later pickup can be arranged.)
Where: Bob and Marian’s house at 449 Highland Ave, West Dundee
Who: The program is designed to help newer Scouts get a jump on requirements, but all Scouts are welcome. Older Scouts can help the new Scouts.
Scout skills offered:
- Totin’ Chip
- Fireman’s Chit
- Cooking both over an open fire and ultralight stove
- if time permits, a 5 mile hike to and around Raceway Woods with emphasis on compass and map reading.
- We will also cover 4, 6 c and d for First Class and 4a for Second Class, time permitting.
Dress: Class Bs and dress for the weather
Gear: Scouts should bring their Scout Handbooks, pocket knives, water bottle. bowl, plate, mug, and camp silverware.
Food: The Scouts will be cooking lunch and the food will be provided for them to cook. Please advise us of any dietary considerations.
Adults: Marian and Bob will be present for two deep leadership. All Scouters and parents are welcome to stay for the day as well. (Yes, we will serve coffee to adults.)
