Date:    Friday eve April 26 to Sunday April 28

Time:   Meet at 5:15pm to depart at 5:30pm sharp from the Church! Eat a good dinner before we depart!

Where: Blackhawk Area Council’s Canyon Camp 4835 Townsend Road, Stockton, IL. Civil Ware Historical Events, city hikes & Parade in Galena, IL. Return Sunday afternoon.

Cost:    $40 per scout. Fee covers event/parade registration, campsite, troop food and drivers.

What:   Camping, hiking, various Saturday events include a Historical Hunt-Trails, street hiking downtown Galena shopping district, Scout tours of Galena Historical Museum, Grant’s Home, Union and Confederate Civil War encampments, Galena Fire Dept bucket Brigade Troop competition, Observe the Civil War battle reenactment, March in the Scout parade down Main St. Galena, Dodge ball competition at Galena High School late Saturday afternoon.

Note: Parents can join us for this outing, a great opportunity and great experience!

Dress for variable weather conditions and outdoor activities, including (always!) layers, boots, hat gloves, poncho or rain suit, blankets, a foam mat or air mattress, flashlight, mess kit and cup. You must have sturdy footwear for hiking the streets of Galena. You may get soaked in the Bucket Competition so consider a change of shoes.
