DESCRIPTION:NYLT 2018 (August Course) CLICK HERE TO REGISTER! \nLoad up your Leadership Experience from NYLT. \nAugust 5-10\, 2018 at Camp Lowden \nWHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF NYLT?\nThe aims of NYLT are to give each Scout or Venturer participant a basic knowledge of various leadership skills while helping them relate these skills to their own troop/team/crew responsibilities; to give them the confidence and knowledge necessary to run their unit’s program; to provide an opportunity to share ideas and experiences with Scouts from other units; and of course\, to have FUN. \nNYLT Leadership Skills instruction includes: \n\nCommunicating Well\nFinding Your Vision\nSetting Your Goals\nPreparing Your Plans\nLeading Yourself\nTeam Development\nSolving Problems\nResolving Conflict\nMaking Ethical Decisions\nThe Teaching EDGE\nThe Leading EDGE\nValuing People\n\nEligibility:\n\nMust be currently registered in the BSA\nBoy Scouts and Varsity Scouts must be 13 years old and hold the rank of First Class or above.\nBoy Scouts and Varsity Scouts must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops.\nVenturing Scouts must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews.\nAll Scouts must obtain their unit leader approval to participate in NYLT.\nMust submit a completed BSA medical form with no restrictions.

DESCRIPTION:WHAT: National Youth Leadership Training\nWHO: Current/future youth leaders in your home unit\nWHERE: Camp Big Timber\, 37W955 Big Tiimber Road. Elgin IL. 60124\nWHEN: June 17th – 23rd 2018\nWHY: Worthwhile experience\, great opportunities\, and to HAVE FUN!!!!!! \nTo be registered for the NYLT course\, participants must meet all of the following qualifications: \n\nYou must be an active member of a Boy Scout Troop\, Varsity Team\, or Venturing Crew.\nMust be at least 13 years old by June 2018\nBe able to attend the entire conference June 17th-23rd 2018\nBe recommended to attend the conference by their unit leader\nBoy Scouts and Varsity Scouts must have earned First Class rank or higher.\nBecause the NYLT conference is conducted entirely outdoors\, in a camp setting\, all participants should have experience with long-term camping.\n\nA mandatory pre-course orientation for NYLT participants\, parents and Scoutmasters/Crew Advisors will occur\, and a time will be assigned in a registration packet to be sent to the Scout after payment is received. \nAll registrations and payment should be be submitted online by May 28th.  \nAfter registering\, each Scout and unit leader will receive additional information about this year’s NYLT course. Registration packets with additional information will be sent once the Scout is paid in full. \nDownload the NYLT Brochure
