Whitewater Merit Badge (Canoe or Kayak)

$85The Three Fires Council BSA, in partnership with the Kendall County Outdoor Education Center and the American Whitewater Association, is ready to challenge Scouts to learn and earn their Whitewater Merit Badge with Canoe or Kayaks. (Must have Canoe or Kayaking Merit Badge)
Our team of All-Star Counselors boasts accomplishments including Eagle Scout, OA Vigil, Scout Leaders, decades of experience in lake, river, whitewater, and Boundary Waters / Northern Tier High Adventure paddling, and State and National Canoeing and Kayaking Championships.
All class participants will need to have passed the BSA swim test. Merit Badge Class participants will need to complete prerequisites; worksheets and review class requirements.

WHO: Boy Scouts/Venturers from Three Fires Council
WHAT: Whitewater Merit Badge (with Canoe or Kayaks)
WHERE: Marge Cline Whitewater Course, 301 E. Hydraulic St.,Yorkville, IL 60560
WHEN: Two Sessions: Must attend both sessions!
- August 18th & 19th, 2018 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm
- Saturday instruction will be on flat water and Sunday will be paddling the Whitewater Course.
HOW: Your $85.00 fee covers Instructors, Canoes/Kayaks, Paddles/PFD’s, (bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks)
CAMPING: Camping overnight available Saturday to Sunday – call Bob Faber for more information.
PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of the BSA Swim test; completion of Merit Badge workbooks, and review of Merit Badge requirements for Whitewater Merit Badge. Please note: canoeing or kayaking merit badge must be earned for the craft you are choosing for Whitewater.
